U.S. Risers/Fallers: Amazon, Royal Caribbean, VeriFone Systems, Gap, BlackBerry, Netflix

Below are the main news driven share price changes at 2:03 p.m. in New York on Friday:

FALLERS

Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) fell 1.1% to $7.39, erasing an earlier gain. The Canadian smartphone maker agreed to buy its rival mobile security software maker Good Technology for $425mln in cash.

VeriFone Systems (NYSE:PAY) fell 1.7% to $30.51 after the provider of in secure electronic payment solutions guided for downbeat current-quarter revenue and earnings as it continues to make the turn from mostly shipping terminals to delivering fully integrated solutions.

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) slumped 1.5% to $497.35 after the online retail giant said its cloud-computing unit Amazon Web Services (AWS) agreed to acquire video-encoding company Elemental Technologies for an undisclosed amount.

Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) fell 3.1% to $97.88, heading for a 6th straight loss, even as Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated its ‘buy’ rating on the video-streaming company.

Gap (NYSE:GPS) surrendered 2% to $32.32 after the apparel retailer posted a 2% decline in same-store sales for August across its brands, but Old Navy sales rose by 6 percent

Royal Caribbean (NYSE:RCL) dropped 1.5% to $87.95 even as the cruise operator hiked its dividend by 25% to about $0.38 per share on Thursday.
