McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) rose 1.3% to $94.68 as the world’s largest burger chain plans to start selling all-day breakfast across the United States on October 6.
Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) gained 2.3% to $28.45 as the world’s largest chipmaker is overhauling its flagship line of computer chips, in a bid to revive personal-computer sales.
Gilead (NASDAQ:GILD) rose 0.6% to $102.05. The research-based biopharmaceutical company said investigational combination treatment for HIV-1 infection met its primary efficacy and safety goals in a phase 3 study.
H&R Block (NYSE:HRB) advanced 6.7% to $35.16. The tax preparation firm reported revenue beat estimates, and it announced a $3.5 billion stock buyback program.
FALLERS
Navistar (NYSE:NAV) fell 7.2% to $16.11 as the truck maker posted a larger loss than expected in the most recent quarter.
Ambarella (NASDAQ:AMBA) retreated 15% to $75.84 even as the video-compression chipmaker reported higher-than-expected results in its fiscal second quarter. The company provided disappointing third-quarter forecast.
Guidewire Software (NYSE:GWRE) was flat issued financial projections for the current quarter and year that were mostly below analysts’ projections even as the company reported stronger-than-expected results for the three month period ended in July.
