RISERS
Home Depot (NYSE:HD) gained 3.2% to $123.55. The world’s largest home-improvement retailer, reported better-than-expected second-quarter results and boosted its outlook amid recovery in the U.S. housing market.
Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) rose 2.6% to $52.00 as the largest U.S. based full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer boosted its earnings guidance for the full fiscal year.
FALLERS
Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT) fell 3% t o$69.80 after the world’s largest retailer warned on profits as it pays higher wages and invests more in its U.S. business.
Esperion Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ESPR) fell 2.8% to $73.37, reversing an earlier rally to as high as $82.75. The emerging drug developer said it is on track to start a final-stage trial of its cholesterol-lowering drug by the end of this year.
Seattle Genetics (NASDAQ:SGEN) fluctuated and was last down 1.8% at $45.68. The biotechnology company won approval to expand the use of its Adcetris treatment.
Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ:URBN) wavered and was last down 0.6% at $32.02 as the retailer reported mixed results.
