Here's a first look at the main movers in early deals in New York on Monday:
RISERS
Zulily (NASDAQ:ZU) surged 47% to $18.49. The online retailer, agreed to be bought by Liberty Interactive (NASDAQ:QVCA), the media conglomerate which owns home shopping network QVC, in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $2.32bn.
Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) rose nearly 3.4% to $251.32 after a Morgan Stanley analyst raised the price target to $465 from $280 on the electric car maker.
AVEO Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AVEO) surged 69% to $1.98. The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biopharmaceutical company signed an exclusive, worldwide license agreement with Novartis AG for the development and commercialization of AVEO’s AV-380, a potential treatment for metabolic syndrome cachexia. AVEO will receive an upfront payment of $15mln.
T-Mobile US (NYSE:TMUS) rose 1.3% to $41.78 after Dan Loeb’s Third Point reported on Friday that it had purchased 6.5 million shares in the telecommunications company.
Pentair (NYSE:PNR) fluctuated between gains and losses and was last up 0.1% at $61.74. The maker of thermal management products agreed to buy privately held electrical products maker Erico Global for $1.8 billion in cash.
FALLERS
Estee Lauder (NYSE:EL) dropped 3.1% to $86.15 after the cosmetics maker reported a lower-than-estimated 7.4% drop in its fiscal fourth-quarter revenue, and it provided a weak forecast.
