Thursday’s most followed in U.S. including Facebook, P&G, Whole Foods, Skechers, Colgate-Palmolive, ConocoPhillips, Cigna, Marriott, NCR, Nokia, LifeLock

U.S. shares traded mixed today as investors digested more earnings and second quarter GDP, a day after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged. The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) slid 0.1 percent to 2,105.93 at 12:06 p.m. in New York. The 30-company Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDEXDJX:.DJI) skidded 0.1 percent to 17,734.29, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC) rose 0.1 percent to 5,116.08. Most followed shares included Facebook, P&G, Whole Foods, Skechers, Colgate-Palmolive, ConocoPhillips, Cigna, Marriott, NCR, Nokia, and LifeLock.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) sank 3.5 percent to $93.62. The world's largest social network reported second-quarter revenue that beat forecasts but its profit fell 9 percent as it sharply increased spending to boost mobile revenue and future growth. Shares fell in morning trading. Net income fell to $715 million, or $0.25 per share, in the April-to-June quarter, from $788 million, or $0.30 per share, a year earlier. Excluding items, the Menlo Park, California-based company earned C$0.50 per share. Analysts on average had expected earnings of $0.47 per share on revenue of $3.99 billion, according to Capital IQ. Excluding the impact of the stronger dollar, revenue would have been about $33 million higher. Second-quarter revenue, revenue jumped to $4.04 billion from $2.91 billion year-over-year.

NCR (NYSE:NCR) slid 11.1 percent to $27.02 after a report said Thoma Bravo ended a $9 billion pursuit.

ADRs of Nokia (NYSE:NOK) jumped 5.8 percent to $6.97 after the Finnish telecom-equipment company reported better-than-expected second-quarter profit.

LifeLock (NYSE:LOCK) tumbled 10.4 percent to $7.69 as the identity protection services company lowered its full-year guidance on anticipation of a recent FTC lawsuit weighing on profits.

In consumer shares, Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), a consumer-goods company, slipped 3.6 percent to $77.74 after its fourth-quarter revenue slightly missed expectations. The company said organic sales in the current fiscal year will be down slightly to up single digits.

Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ:WFM) slumped 11 percent to $36.33 after same-store sales growth cooled. Whole Foods has been hurt by increasing competition and has also suffered negative publicity from overcharging complaints in its New York City stores.

Skechers USA (NYSE:SKX) jumped 14.1 percent to $146.24 as the sports shoe maker and retailer reported a better-than-expected rise in quarterly revenue.

Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL) fell 1.3 percent to $68.06 after the consumer-products company reported lower earnings, dragged by significant currency-related headwinds, though results met expectations.

Marriott (NASDAQ:MAR) retreated 4.4 percent to $73.64. The hotel operator earned an adjusted $0.82 per share for its latest quarter, $0.01 above estimates, but revenue came in slightly below forecasts.

In other stocks, Cigna (NYSE:CI) fluctuated and was last down 0.4 percent to $144.82. The health insurance company reported adjusted quarterly profit of $2.55 per share, beating estimates of $2.31, though revenue was slightly below forecasts.

ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) skidded 0.9 percent to $52.42 after the oil and gas explorer unveiled plans to further pare its spending for the year, as the company swung to a loss in its second quarter amid tumbling commodity.
