There has been a significant increase in the resources at Yangibana, the rare earths project in Western Australia, Rare Earth Materials (LON:REM) revealed.
Total mineral resources have been upped to 71,828 contained tonnes of Total rare earth oxide.
In a separate announcement, the company said European Metals, in which it has a 9.79% stake, has announced an update to its drilling campaign at the Cinovec Lithium-Tin-Tungsten project in the Czech Republic. The results are expected in mid-November.
Elsewhere in the mining sector, Eurasia Mining (LON:EUA) has announced formal receipt of a mining permit for its West Kytlim platinum deposit in Russia.
Meanwhile, Caledonia Mining (LON:CMCL, TSE:CAL) continues to put many AIM companies in the shade by paying a dividend.
The dividend for the latest quarter is 1.5 Canadian cents, which implies a Total dividend for the year of six cents, unchanged from the previous fiscal year. Caledonia, which is free of debt, said its current intention is to maintain its annual dividend at six cents, paid in quarterly instalments.
Mariana Resources (LON:MARL) has more high grade gold-copper intercepts at its Hot Maden project in Turkey.
Local partner Lidya is undertaking a drilling programme to expand the project’s resource and assays from the four latest drill holes were consistent with the high grades and widths seen previously.

A deal to acquire producing assets in Egypt represents something of a key strategic move for both Nostra Terra (LON:NTOG) and Independent Resources (LON:IRG).
The pair of AIM oil companies, which set up a joint venture last month, will acquire a non-operated 50% stake in the East Ghazalat concession for US$3.5mln.

Tomco Energy (LON:TMC) has relayed comments from Red Leaf Resources that say the economics of its proprietary EcoShale process are improving.
AIM-quoted Tomco has successfully permitted a proposed project in Utah that aims to use the specialised oil extraction technology, which allows oil to be extracted from shale without fracking.
It had, however, decided to wait until Red Leaf completes a commercial proof of concept trail, on its own project, also in Utah, where it is partnered with Total.
Red Leaf and Total earlier this year put their project back by around two years amid falling oil prices.
Graphene Nanochem (LON:GRPH) has won a US$384,000 order for its water-based drilling additive PlatQuartZ from a Middle East oil company working in Turkmenistan.
The additive enhances the rate of penetration in drilling and oil recovery in difficult wells.
Away from the resources sector, Scancell Holdings (LON:SCLP) could be accused of hogging the stage at the International Conference on Progress in Vaccination against Cancer, taking place in Germany this week, for it is giving no fewer than six presentations on the company's ImmunoBody and Moditope immunotherapy platforms.
Stamp dealer Stanley Gibbons (LON:SGI) said weakness in its Asian trading and difficult market conditions for some of its more high-value stock will affect its full-year figures.

Motive Television (LON:MTV) said Bergen Global Opportunity Fund has converted £125,000 of the existing loan into equity.
