Consumer electronics giant Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has confirmed the iSight camera may malfunction in some of its iPhone 6 plus smartphones.
The company said the malfunction, which causes photos to be unfocused, occurs on a batch of phones sold largely between September 2014 and January 2015, and that it would replace the camera units free of charge.
Before you rush off to return your phone, however, you should check the company's web site and input the serial number of your phone to see whether you are eligible for a free fix.
Apple shares fell sharply, shedding US$4.51 at US$101.25 in early trading - a fall of 4.2%, versus a decline of 3.8% for the Nasdaq Composite index.
