Westgold Resources' (ASX: WGR) company strategy is on the development and production from the company's Northern Territory and Western Australian gold projects, with a board restructure to reflect this focus.
Scott Huffadine has been appointed managing director, effective immediately, and has most recently been an executive director of Metals X (ASX: MLX).
Metals X holds 22.5% of the new Westgold entity, post the recent acquisition of Aragon Resources (ASX: AAG).
Huffadine’s previous roles have included managing operational start-ups for open pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operational management of large scale going concerns in a number of regulatory environments and commodities.
Paul Benson, former managing director of Aragon, has elected not to take up a position with Westgold and will pursue other opportunities.
Paul Cmrlec has tendered his resignation as a director of Westgold in order to focus on his role as managing director of Pacific Niugini (ASX: PNR).
Westgold currently holds resources of 3 million gold ounces-equivalent with a reserve of 0.6 million contained gold ounces.
This provides annual production potential of 200,000 gold ounce equivalent within 5 years.
