BBX Minerals readies to drill six gold targets at Juma East

Brazilian-focussed BBX Minerals (ASX:BBX) has confirmed a drilling sequence at the highly-prospective Juma East gold-copper project, located in the Apui region in Amazonas state in Brazil.

BBX will drill six targets.

While Juma East is greenfields, the area has historically had thousands of artisanal miners, highlighting known gold in the area.

The rig is mobilised to site, with drilling to commence in late-September.

The assay timeline should then produce its first results in mid-November.

Last month BBX accepted a drilling tender from a subsidiary of Drilling Corp of Canada (TSX- V: EGD) to drill its Guida and Plato prospects at Juma.

Consideration for the drilling includes issuing shares. On mobilisation a total of 117,187 shares; De-mobilisation a total of 117,187 shares; and For each metre drilled, a total of 914 shares.

Improved road access to Juma East

BBX said that a group of local land-owners is currently upgrading 50 kilometres of access road from the Trans-Amazonica highway east of Apui which will cut through the entire Juma East project area.

This will result in significantly improved access to all the Juma East targets, including the proposed drill sites, within a 1-2 month period.

Early comparisons to Wafi-Golpu project

BBX's induced polarization survey results at Plato have drawn early comparisons to the world-class Wafi-Golpu project, hosting 28 million ounces of gold, 9 million tonnes of copper and 50 million ounces of silver.

The Wafi-Golpu project is located in Papua New Guinea, and owned by Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) and Harmony Gold (NYSE:HMY).
