New drill results will improve grades at Berkeley Energy’s Zona 7 resource

Fresh drill results from the infill drill programme at Zona 7 look set to increase overall grade

The final results from Berkeley Energy’s (LON:BKY) recently completed drilling programme at its Zona 7 project in Spain have delivered very encouraging results in terms of uranium grade.

Certain intersections have shown grades at up to 15 times the grade reported in the existing resource for Zona 7.

Among the highlights of the recent drilling was 13 metres at 8,543 parts per million (ppm) U3O8, 18 metres at 3,658 ppm, 14 metres at 2,261 ppm and 52 metres at 1,909 ppm.

A new resource estimate for Zona 7 is now in the pipeline and is expected to be released shortly.

The thinking is that with the latest results incorporated, the overall grade will increase.

What’s more the new resource will demonstrate a resource in the indicated category, allowing it to be incorporated into a pre-feasibility study for the company’s wider Salamanca project.

This will enable the overall economics of the project to be reported for the first time.
