UPDATE - Eckoh wins contract with the Co-op

The three year deal will see Eckoh's CallGuard secure payment solution implemented throughout The Co-operative Group's contact centres

Secure payments specialist Eckoh (LON:ECK) revealed mutual society, the Co-operative Group, is to start taking its services.

The three year deal will see Eckoh's CallGuard secure payment solution implemented throughout The Co-operative Group's contact centres in its Electrical, Legal Services, Group Finance and FuneralCare divisions.

These divisions take in excess of 250,000 calls per year.

The contract was won after a competitive tender, and James Cullen, PCI Compliance manager at the Co-op said the mutual society selected Eckoh because of its PCI DSS [Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard] level one status and track record in the payment solutions industry.

The contract win was announced ahead of Eckoh's annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, where investors were told that sales pipeline activity remains high, with a noticeable increase in enquiries from the US subsidiary since the end of the summer period.

As per usual, full-year performance is expected to be weighted to the second half, the company revealed/

“We remain confident that the high levels of growth seen in previous years will continue through the new financial year and beyond with current trading remaining in line with market expectations," Chris Batterham, chairman of Eckoh, said in a statement released ahead of the AGM.

Broker Northland Capital Partners said the positive trading update was a good start to the current financial year, with a number of international contracts secured.

“The FY results in June were overshadowed by the (ultimately unsuccessful) recommended offer for Netcall but the company is trading well with an up to date product set and strong demand drivers as companies battle with the data loss and ensure compliance with PCI DSS,” Northland's David Johnson said.

Shares in Eckoh were outperforming the market in mid-morning trading, up 2.5% at 41.5p.
