UK Oil & Gas Investments (LON:UKOG), the leading stakeholder in the Horse Hill project near Gatwick Airport, has appointed Matt Cartwright as its new chief operating officer.
Cartwright, who has been working as a consultant to the company for over a year, has been “significantly involved” with UKOG’s operations as well as the recent growth of the asset portfolio, the company said.
Stephen Sanderson, who became chief executive in January, said: "We are delighted to confirm Matt as our chief operating officer.
“He has made an important contribution to the company's growth over the last year during an extremely active and exciting period.
“With his breadth of experience and deep industry knowledge, he is a key addition to our management team as we continue to evaluate and develop our onshore portfolio in the south of England."
Cartwright has thirty years of industry experience, twenty of which were spent with the “majors” –companies such as ARCO, BP and Total – and he has worked primarily in areas like operating management, business development, strategic planning, economic evaluation and deployment of new technology.
