UK shares are tipped to open higher as the week begins despite a sell off in China overnight.
Concerns over the Chinese market have been a weighty theme in recent weeks and look set to continue yet, not least due to economic data over the weekend.
That showed China’s factory output and fixed-asset investment were both weaker-than-expected last month.
The Shanghai Composite Index is down 101 points, while in Japan, the Nikkei 225 is also down a whopping 246 points at 18,105.
On Wall Street on Friday, the Dow finished 103 points to the good at 16, 433, while in London Footsie was down 38 at 6,118.
But today, financial spread betters at IG Index are calling FTSE100 to open around 40 points higher.
It comes as investors look to this week's Fed policy meeting and a possible rise in interest rates, but will all going on recently, the chances of a hike have been put at 28%. So this appears to have been taken as good news in the markets.
In corporate news today, final results are expected from Kalibrate Technologies (LON:KLBT) and Empiric Student Property (LON:ESP).
