We kick off the look back at the week with AIM newbie Harvest Minerals (LON:HMI) debuted on London’s market on 7 September.
It follows a solid pre-listing marketing effort over the summer and rides on the coat-tails of an impressive news release from its Arapua potash project in Brazil.
It wasn’t the only news to come from the AIM-listed miners.
Gemfields (LON:GEM) unveiled plans to expand its international footprint by acquiring two separate emerald projects in Colombia worth a total of up to US$22.5mln.
The Coloured gemstone specialist also reported a successful auction of high quality rough emerald and amethyst stones in Singapore this week produced revenues of over US$35mln.
Another company with two stories this week was KEFI Minerals (LON:KEFI), which provided a double dose of good news as it revealed planned output from its Ethiopia gold project has grown significantly and said a winning bidder has emerged for the contract to mine the Tulu Kapi deposit.
On top of that, the miner revealed it is in negotiations with “several” potential buyers of a stake in its Tulu Kapi gold project, in Ethiopia, including the country’s government.
Sticking with gold, Aureus Mining (LON:AUE CVE:AUE) has sold the first gold produced from its New Liberty Mine in Liberia.
Four gold doré shipments have been made, said the miner, amounting 4,881 ounces of gold at an average price of US$ 1,119 per ounce.
Gold explorer Dalradian (LON:DALR TSE:DNA) has reported more bumper grades from its Curraghinalt prospect in Northern Ireland.
South of the border, Galantas Gold (LON:GAL) revealed what it described as “encouraging results” from its new licence areas in the Republic of Ireland.
Elsewhere, Condor Gold (LON:CNR) will continue surface exploration at La India in Nicaragua while it carries out a strategic review of its operations, it said this week.
After a short summer break, exploration drilling is set to resume at the Logrosán gold and tungsten project in Extremadura, Spain, held in joint venture between Metal Tiger (LON:MTL) and UK-based special purpose vehicle Logrosán Minerals.
Higher confidence indicated gold resources remains largely unchanged compared to 2014, said Philippines-focused miner Medusa Mining (ASX:MML) as it issued its latest annual update.
Xtract Resources (LON:XTR) has re-negotiated the terms of its acquisition of the Manica gold project in Mozambique to stop bigger than expected dilution from future share payments.
Rambler Metals (LON:RMM, CVE:RAB) achieved most of its production targets in 2015 despite a challenging year as the copper price slumped.
Copper and gold metal produced was the one miss, with 4,733 tonnes of copper slightly below the forecast of 5,400-6,700t and gold production of 5,355 ounces also less than the 5,600-6,600 oz forecast.
European copper mining group EMED (TSE:EMD, LON:EMED) has unveiled plans to re-brand under the new corporate banner of Atalaya Mining Plc.
Savannah Resources (LON:SAV) has finalised new drill targets and hopes to start drilling at the Block 4 in Oman towards the end of this month (September) following positive findings from an electromagnetic survey.
In other news, chief executive Chris Gilbert has described Fox Marble’s (LON:FOX) first six months of 2015 as “a challenging start” though he says he is looking forward to progress in the development of new markets.
African Potash (LON:AFPO) has appointed Loita Capital as the lead arranger for a US$50mln finance facility to underpin its trading agreement with Comesa/Actesa.
Comesa is a free trade union of twenty African countries with Actesa its business agency.
Finally, Amur Minerals (LON:AMC) expects to upgrade the resource at its Kun-Manie deposit in Far East Russia after further drilling confirmed it extended further than anticipated.
