Hurricane Energy (LON:HUR) up 1.67%. North Sea oil explorer gets oil field status for its Lancaster field west of Shetland.

Petroneft Resources (LON:PTR) up 1.1%. Russian explorer says T-502 well result clearly demonstrated potential for materially enhanced flow rates.

Actual Experience (LON:ACT) up 10.6%. Analytics group signs contract to supply services to the business communication services arm of US telecoms company Verizon.

FALLERS

CLS Holdings (LON:CLI) down 4.7%. Property group announces the sale of six UK properties for £7.4mln.

Elektron Technology (LON:EKT) down 2%. Global technology company said finance chief Andy Weatherstone was stepping down.

Cambridge Cognition (LON:COG) down 11.25%. Developer of tests for early detection of dementia says introduction of products allowing customers to use iPads led to a reduction in hardware sales, which hit the percentage increase in total sales.

RISERS

ITM Power (LON:ITM) up 26%. The firm has signed a deal with Shell to supply three hydrogen refuelling stations for three Shell retail forecourts in the UK to refuel electric cars.

Barratt Development (LON:BDEV) up 3%. The UK housing sector registered its biggest monthly increase in 15 months, according to data from Lloyds Banking Group's Halifax division. House prices jumped 2.7% in August, the fastest monthly increase since May last year.

FALLERS

Tullow Oil (LON:TLW) down 7.3%. HSBC cut its price target on the stock to 310p from 514p to reflect the bank’s lowered oil price assumptions.

BHP Billiton (LON:BLT) down 6.5%. Core machinery orders in Japan declined for a second straight month, and the weak data from the country sent miners falling.

Home Retail Group (LON:HOME) down 5.5%. Like-for-like sales at Argos fell 2.8% to £897mln in the second quarter due to a decrease in sales of electrical goods driven by TVs , tablets and white goods such as washing machines and fridges.

Morrisons (LON:MRW) down 4%. The supermarket chain is in a bit of a mess and is culling 11 stores to rectify some of its issues after reporting a 50% slide in profit.

MyCelx Technology (LON:MYX) up 14%. Revenue rose 16% to US$8.7mln and pre-tax losses narrowed to US$1.2mln from US$2mln. The equipment leaser reduced costs and said it is looking to find revenue generating opportunities.

Amphion Innovations (LON:AMP) up 9%. The life sciences firm announced its subsidiary DataTern has received a favourable ruling in its legal dispute with MicroStrategy. DataTern’s ‘502 patent was found to solve a specific problem in computing, and denied a motion which suggested MicroStrategy did not infringe the ‘502 patent.

88 energy (LON:88E) up 7%. It has sealed a rig contract which means the first well at Project Icewine, on Alaska’s North Slope, is due to spud in October.

FALLERS

Herencia (LON:HER) down 20%. The company raised £500,000 from the issue of 512ln shares at 0.1p per share to advance the Picachos project, complete due diligence on a potential Tambillos joint venture, and general working capital.

Sefton Resources (LON:SER) down 12%. The firm has received a requisition from a group of shareholders including former interim chairman Daniel Levi for an extraordinary general meeting to remove some directors from the board. Nominated adviser Allenby Capital said it will resign if the resolution is passed.

Gable Holdings (LON:GAH) down 10%. The non-life insurance company saw a 33% rise in written premiums but swung to a £2.4mln loss in its interim results from a £2.5mln gain over the same period in 2014.
