Genel Energy gets second payment from Kurdistan

Genel owns 44% and 25% respectively of the Taq Taq and Tawke fields.

Genel Energy (LON:GENL) has received a second payment in as many days from Kurdistan for oil exported by pipeline to Turkey.

DNO, the operator of the Tawke field in Iraq, received a gross payment US$30mln, of which Genel's share was US$8mln.

Taken with the Taq Taq export payment announced yesterday, Genel's total September 2015 export payment is US$24.5mln, it said.

It is the first tranche of payments released from the semi-autonomous region of Iraq.

Genel owns 44% and 25% respectively of the Taq Taq and Tawke fields.

It expects to average net production of 90,000 to 100,000 barrels daily for 2015 and is one of the main oil exporters in the region alongside DNO.

In August, Tawke set a new production record with an average of 153,346 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in the second quarter. More than three quarters of Tawke’s crude is exported.

Taq Taq, meanwhile, produced an average of 128,000 bopd through the first half of 2015 and more than 60% was supplied for export.
