Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 4pm.

RISERS

Ryanair (LON:RYA) up 5.8%. The budget airline raised its profit forecast by a quarter after more holiday makers than expected took to the skies on its aircraft.

Horizon Discovery (LON:HZD) up 5%. The company agreed to license out certain cell lines it has developed to Abcam (LON:ABC), the research antibodies specialist, in a deal worth almost £2mln.

ANGLE (LON:AGL) up 4.4%. The University of Southern California will later today unveil “highly encouraging results” using the AIM-listed med-tech firm Parsortix technology in liquid biopsies for breast cancer.

Morrisons (LON:MRW) up 3.5%. The supermarket chain is selling 140 of its M local convenience stores for £25mln in cash, taking a loss on the sale, to a team led by retail entrepreneur Mike Greene.

FALLERS

GlaxoSmithKline (LON:GSK) down 1.5%. The drugmaker announced positive results from trials on its Relvar/Breo Ellipta drugs for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

RISERS

Minera IRL (LON:MIRL) up 10.4%. The blockade at its Corihuarmi mine has been lifted and operations resumed after successful talks with community leaders were held last night.

Anglo American (LON:AAL) up 6%. Investors rejoiced as the platinum miner sold its loss-making Rustenburg platinum assets in South Africa for ‘at least’ R4.5bn (£210mln) to Sibanye Gold.

Hargreaves Lansdown (LON:HL.) up 6%. Net profit fell 5% as it was impacted by lower charges and falling markets, but client numbers and assets under management both rose. Analysts said the results were “as expected” but reckon the future looks bright for the investment firm after two years of headwinds.

FALLERS

ProPhotonix (LON:PPIX) down 14%. Sales dropped 19% to US$637mln, although 10% was due to currency headwinds, and gross profits fell 13% to US$2.8mln in the half year to June 30. It also launched its COBRA Cure FX, a UV LED lamp.

Entertainment One (LON:ETO) down 4.3%. Investors were disappointed by a first quarter that was weaker than expected, but the firm said it is confident about its full year figures thanks to the strong start made by its television arm, particularly the Peppa Pig brand.

Virgin Money (LON:VM.) down 4%. According to reports, US investor Wilbur Ross is selling up to 45mln shares in the bank, around 10% of the total issued shares.

Below are the main news-driven share price movements at 9am.

RISERS

Zibao Metals Recycling (LON:ZBO) up 18.6%. Pre-tax profit rose in 2015 despite lower sales due to a diversified customer base, the company said. It warned, however, that the market remains challenging due to the slowing Chinese economy and weak metal prices.

Alkane Energy (LON:ALK) up 7%. The gas producer reported a 25% rise in output in the six months to June 30. Revenue rose 23% over period while pre-tax profit rocketed 166% to £1.4mln.

Trakm8 (LON:TRAK) up 5.4%. Trading in the first five months has started well with orders 19% ahead of the previous year and sales are “considerably higher” than last year.

FALLERS

Monitise (LON:MONI) down 31%. The troubled tech group announced chief executive Elizabeth Buse will step down after just six months in charge. It was announced in full year results which showed pre-tax losses of £227.4mln in 2015, up from £63.4mln a year earlier. The company added that revenue growth is not expected in 2016.

Goals Soccer Centres (LON:GOAL) down 20.6%. Sales over the summer have been challenging in the UK, the company said, as teams stop for the summer and organisers struggle to find players. The strong pound and poor UK weather was also blamed, leading to a bigger marketing campaign in September. Due to the uncertainty, the management revised down its profit guidance for the year.

Reach4Entertainment (LON:R4E) down 12.3%. Pre-tax profit dropped to £50,000 in the first six months from £700,000 in the first half the year before. Trading was in line with expectations as it works at reducing its debt.
