Minera IRL confirms appointment of new director and chairman

Pinto has been a director of mining and energy companies before

Minera IRL (LON:MIRL) confirmed that Jaime Pinto has been appointed as a director of the company and he will be the new non-executive chairman.

Pinto, a Peruvian lawyer, has served on the boards of mining and energy-related companies in the past and he is current a director of Peru's largest oil refinery as well as Toronto listed Lupaka Gold Corp.

He has also in the past been a director of the Inter-American Development Bank, as a representative of Peru.

The re-election of former chairman Daryl Hodges was not approved at the company’s AGM at the end of last month.
