Allergy Therapeutics recruits first patient to dosing trial

The company continues to make significant headway on a number of different fronts.

Allergy Therapeutics (LON:AGY) said a dose ranging study for its Pollinex Quattro Birch treatment has recruited its first patient.

In all 350 patients will be taken onto the phase IIb programme, which has been set up to determine the optimum amount of the drug that should be administered.

Trials will be carried out in 25 centres across Germany and Austria.

Pollinex Quattro, which is also being developed to tackle grass allergies, can be administered over a short-course of four injections.

In the same update, AT said its Pollinex Quattro Grass clinical programme in the US is “advancing well”.

“Patient recruitment for the G204 study in this programme is progressing according to plan and we expect to announce the enrolment of the first patient in November 2015,” said Tim Higenbottam, the company’s research and development director.

“It is an incredibly exciting time for the company as we progress towards creating the first global franchise of seasonal ultra-short aluminium free vaccines in the field on immunotherapy."
