RISERS
Xaar (LON:XAR) up 9.29%. The company reported a pre-tax profit of £3.7mln, down from £15.3mln a year before, on revenues of £47.8mln. It said, however, that it expects continued stability for the remainder of 2015, with a return to growth in 2016.
Aldermore (LON:ALD) up 9.39%. The retail bank reported a jump in profit in the first half and said it is on track to deliver its goals for 2015. Pre-tax profit climbed to £39.5mln, up from £18.6mln in the previous year.
Standard Chartered (LON:STAN) up 6.45%. The emerging markets bank benefited from a positive trading session in Asia. The Nikkei closed up 1.1%, while the Hang Seng added 3.0% and the Shanghai Composite 5.3%.
FALLERS
HSS Hire (LON:HSS) down 12.66%. Shares eased again today after chief executive Chris Davies said yesterday: “Trading continues to be unpredictable, and after a reasonable July, we have seen softer market conditions in August.” He added “As a result we are cautious on the outlook for the balance of the year and now expect full year earnings to be below current market expectations.”
OneSavings (LON:OSB) down 4.64%. Some profit taking after yesterday’s big gains were compounded by the specialist lender being downgraded to ‘Hold’ from ‘Buy’ by Investec.

RISERS
Atlantic Coal (LON:ATC) up 118%. Chairman Adam Wilson said the company’s turnaround had been ‘remarkable’ as it delivered sales of US$10.4mln, up 9.7% on the corresponding period a year ago, and a swing to profit of just over US$4.4mln.
MTI Wireless (LON:MWE) up 14.7%. Revenue increased 13% to US$8mln while operational profit rose by some 150% to US$500,000 in the first half of the year.
Allied Minds (LON:ALM) up 11.86%. A biopharmaceutical platform it owns with Bristol-Myers Squibb has agreed a worldwide licensing deal with Yale University to help treat diseases such as prostate cancer.
FALLERS
Oxford Biomedica (LON:OXB) down 9.9%. The company is making progress on its pipeline but losses widened in the first half of the year to £6.1mln from £4.8mln the year before as revenue dipped slightly.
EU Supply (LON:EUSP) down 5.56%. The software provider raised £412,000through the placing of 5.1mln shares at 8p a pop and raised £941,000 through the first tranche of convertible loan notes.

RISERS
Surface Transforms (LON:SCE) up 18.5%. The manufacturer of carbon fibre car parts has been given industry approval to supply its products to car makers. It received a TS16949 quality certification, a prerequisite standard to supply into the automotive space.
Aldermore Group (LON:ALD) up 7.7%. Profits doubled in the first six months of the year as strong growth in loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and in its residential mortgage business boosted the figures.
Minds + Machines (LON:MMX) up 6.3%. The company revealed it has seen “strong interest” in what it calls ‘super-premium’ domain names. It has also received US$3.5mln of net proceeds after withdrawing applications to control two new top level domains, .data and .art. Shares rose despite co-founder and former chairman Frederick Krueger selling 20mln shares, about half of his 5% stake.
FALLERS
Wishbone Gold (LON:WSBN) down 33.3%. The company revealed it has raised £250,000 through the issue of new shares. The small cap explorer said it will use the cash for working capital purposes.
Filtronic (LON:FTC) down 21%. The company is hoping to raise £4.5mln through the placing of 90mlnshares at 5p a pop as it moves from the main market to AIM.
PV Crystalox Solar (LON:PVCS) down 8.44%. The group continues to limit its output to conserve cash as losses before tax widened in the first half of the year to €9.5mln from €6.9mln in the same period the year before.
