SolGold's (LON:SOLG) 12th hole at the Cascabel copper gold project has exhibited encouraging visible copper mineralisation, which increased with depth, the firm said as it updated on progress.
The hole is now at 647.6 metres and drilling continues at the hole in the Alpala central zone- one of three porphyry targets the firm has identified along the Alpala structural zone.
Alpala Central zone has now been extended to over 450 metres, SolGold noted.
Meanwhile, a second drill rig has arrived on site at Alpala and is currently being set up on what's called the T1 target at north-west Alpala. This will sink hole 13.
The South East Alpala target will be tested by Hole 14 pending the results of current drill holes.
This second rig can drill faster and deeper, enabling drill hole tests of the very rich mineralisation encountered in holes 5 and 9, and to deepen hole 8 which intersected the mineralised porphyry but did not drill the full expected section, SolGold also noted.
