Life sciences group Ergomed (LON:ERGO) said a cancer drug it helped developed will undergo a second-round efficacy and safety assessment in October.
This will be carried out by the independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) that is overseeing phase III clinical trials on zoptarelin doxorubicin, which is being used to treat women with recurrent or metastatic endometrial cancer.
The DSMB review is an important milestone towards receiving regulatory sign-off.
Commercial airplane leasing firm Avation (LON:AVAP) has sold an ATR 72-600 aircraft. It is the second aircraft the company has sold this year, the first of which was sold in April.
The company said: “The sales price is consistent with current market values” but noted that the number of aircrafts in its portfolio remains at 29.

Bought from the University of Central Florida for an undisclosed sum, the system incorporates a condenser fan that is based on aircraft propeller design elements.
Gold group Armadale (LON:ACP), has raised £700,000 to start ground works and finish the definitive feasibility study for its Mpokoto mine in the DRC. Armadale wants to finish the DFS this quarter with production to start in the first half of next year at 25,000oz of gold annually over nine years.
Rosslyn Data Technologies (LON:RDT) has teamed up with Genpact (NYSE:G), a US$4bn outsourcing and technology specialist listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Genpact will add Rosslyn’s RAPid big data cloud-based analytics system with its own suit of products.
ZincOx (LON:ZOX) has raised a further £1mln from the open offer that followed its recent placing. The zinc recycling specialist said the offer was 86% taken up including excess applications.
Stellar Diamonds (LON:STEL) has arranged a US$330,000 convertible loan note and a warrant for similar amount with German private equity firm Deutsche Balaton. The Sierra Leone and Guinea diamond miner also intends to restructure its share capital through a 50 into one consolidation.
Horizonte Minerals (LON:HZM TSX:HZM) remains confident its Araguaia nickel project in Brazil will come on stream when prices for the steel additive pick up again in 18-24 months’ time. Prices for the metal have been volatile over the past two years, but chairman David Hall said demand overall was robust and aside from Araguaia there are few new projects scheduled in the next few years.
The nickel market is predicted to be in deficit from late 2016 and by 2018 there is an expected shortfall of around 778,000 tonnes, he said.
Atlantic Coal (LON:ATC) has opened a new rail loading facility at its Stockton mine in Pennsylvania just two months after construction started. Anthracite from the mine will now be shipped in 100 ton capacity railcars compared with 20 ton lorries previously.
