RISERS
Venn Life Sciences (LON:VENN) up 10%. Revenues in the first half were 170% up on the year earlier as it gave an upbeat assessment of prospects. Billings exceeded €4mln in the six months to June 30 driven by contract wins totalling €9mln in the period.
IGas (LON:IGAS) up 9.5%. Shares were higher amid government plans which could fast-track planning decisions for shale gas and fracking projects. New government measures will give local councils up to 16 weeks to either grant or deny fracking before Westminster steps in.
Cineworld (LON:CINE) up 5.5%. Record-breakers such as Fifty Shades of Grey, Jurassic World and Fast and Furious 7 helped revenue rise to £329.1mln in the 26 weeks to July from £268.6mln a year earlier.
FALLERS
Lansdowne Oil & Gas (LON:LOGP) down 45.7%. The Midleton exploration well, in the Celtic Sea, has found gas but not in large enough volumes be deemed a commercial discovery.
Lonmin (LON:LMI) down 5.28%. Platinum dropped below US$1,000 per ounce today.

RISERS
Greka Engineering & Technology (LON:GEL) up 139%. Its value more than doubled today after it won a construction contract with a Chinese state-owned coalbed methane company.
CentralNic (LON:CNIC) up 21.2%. If you haven’t heard (where have you been?) Proactive Investors broke the story earlier this week that Google’s name change to Alphabet included changing the domain name to abc.xyz. The register for the .xyz domain is run by CentralNic.
TUI AG (LON:TUI) up 7.2%. The travel company said that despite the Tunisia beach terrorist attack costing the firm €10mln in cancellations, it still expects underlying profit growth of between 12.5% and 15% this year and at least 10% in the next three years.
FALLERS
International Ferro (LON:IFL) down 32.4%. The South African steel miner said it was hit by tough operating conditions in the country as well as a slowing steel demand in China. The operating loss in the second half will be similar to the first half, IFL said, sending shares lower.
Quarto Group (LON:QRT) down 12.5%. The illustrated book publisher posted wider pre-tax losses due to higher costs but sales rose.
Ophir Energy (LON:OPHR) down 3.5%. The company swung to a massive US$123.3mln pre-tax loss in the first half of 2015 from a US$589mln pre-tax profit the year before.

RISERS
Fashion chain Burberry (LON:BBY) was up 2.16% after it bounced back following recent slides due to China's currency devaluation. On Tuesday, the stock also had a "market perform" rating by Sanford C. Bernstein repeated.
Coca Cola (LON:CCH) added 6.42% as it unveiled a 31.7% rise in first-half net profits.
Gold explorer Stratex International (LON:STI) was among London's biggest gainers, adding 16.67. This week the mining group confirmed gold indications over a 1.2km strike in the south of its Dalafin gold project in Senegal.
FALLERS
G4S (LON:GFS), the security firm, was down 2.34% to 262.6p after it yesterday posted first-half revenues and profits ahead (albeit marginally) and in line with forecasts. However, ‘actual’ numbers made for grimmer reading, and were riddled with one offs, including a £21mln in goodwill impairments and a £16mln restructuring charges.
Rio Tinto (LON:RIO), the big cap miner, eased 2.04% lower as blue chip diggers were hit again by China currency worries.
Pearson (LON:PSON) lost 1.54% following yesterday's news that the education publisher was selling its 50% stake in magazine 'The Economist' to the investment arm of the Italian family that founded car giant Fiat (now Fiat Chrysler).
