Talon Resources kicks off maiden drill campaign at Eagle Lake gold project

Talon Resources PLC (LSE:TAR, FRA:U09) has started its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario, with the first hole targeting the project's highest-priority prospect at East Fornieri Bay.

The fully funded programme will comprise 11 holes totalling 1,375 metres across five drill pads and four target areas: East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll (NYSE:KNL).

East Fornieri Bay previously returned channel samples of 4.80 metres grading 4.47 grams per tonne gold, including 1.0 metre at 19.10 g/t, alongside 1.85 metres at 7.17 g/t including 0.50 metre at 24.40 g/t.

Chief executive Alex King said drilling had begun “ahead of schedule”, with the programme designed to provide further physical support for high-grade gold mineralisation identified through Talon's exploration work and MINML's PRISM machine-learning platform.

Talon said MINML's work placed 10 of the 16 cells covering the licence in the top 1% nationally for gold. Assay results will be reported in batches, with results expected over the remainder of the third quarter and into the fourth quarter of 2026.
