Timber and biomass supply specialist Active Energy (LON:AEG) has named a legal and corporate finance expert as a new non-exec director.
After graduating from Cambridge University, Michael Rowan practised as a solicitor in the international finance and corporate finance departments at well-known law firm Linklaters in London, Hong Kong and New York, working with leading global financial institutions.
He then went to Merrill Lynch International, where he was initially vice president & senior legal counsel of equity capital markets, before being appointed to a role where he was responsible for origination, execution and commercial negotiation of equity and equity-linked transactions, including major privatisations in the UK and EMEA region.
Active’s chief executive Richard Spinks said the board looked forward to drawing upon Rowan's considerable international commercial experience to assist the group in achieving the ambitious expansion plans it has committed to.
"I am confident that he will prove to be an independent voice and a very valuable addition to the AEG team."
