Immunic Inc (NASDAQ:IMUX, FRA:10VA) announced that it has appointed Chitrang Davé as chief data and digital officer, effective August 30, creating a new executive role focused on data, analytics, artificial intelligence and digital strategy.
Davé will report to CEO Erik Lundgren and join Immunic’s executive leadership team. He will oversee an enterprise-wide organization covering data science, engineering, management and digital capabilities as the biotechnology company prepares to transition from late-stage clinical development toward potential commercialization.
The company said Davé will support preparation of the data package for a potential New Drug Application for vidofludimus calcium (IMU-838), an oral therapy being developed for multiple sclerosis.
Immunic expects top-line results from the Phase 3 ENSURE trials evaluating vidofludimus calcium in relapsing multiple sclerosis by the end of 2026. The company is also advancing preparations for a confirmatory Phase 3 program in progressive multiple sclerosis.
"We are continuing to add to our exceptional leadership team as we move toward one of the most important periods in Immunic's history," Immunic CEO Lundgren said.
"With top-line data from our Phase 3 ENSURE trials of vidofludimus calcium in relapsing MS expected by year-end and preparations for our confirmatory Phase 3 program in progressive MS advancing, we intend to move decisively from pivotal data to regulatory filing to commercial execution.
Davé said he was honored to join Immunic at such a pivotal moment.
“With pivotal trial readouts ahead and potential NDA filing and commercialization on the horizon, there is a real opportunity to build a modern, commercial-ready data and digital foundation that supports the company through its next phase of growth,” Davé said.
“By strategically leveraging technology, data, and AI, we can amplify the speed and agility of a focused biotech, accelerate clinical execution, and build scalable commercial capabilities that enable Immunic to compete effectively."
Davé joins Immunic after serving as Head of Enterprise Data, AI & Advanced Analytics at Avidity Biosciences, where he developed the company’s enterprise data strategy and an AI portfolio. Previously, he was Global Head of Enterprise Data & Analytics at Edwards Lifesciences and spent 16 years at Medtronic in senior data and analytics roles.
As part of his appointment, Immunic’s Compensation Committee granted Davé an option to purchase 120,000 shares of the company’s common stock under its 2026 Inducement Equity Compensation Plan. The options will vest over four years, with 25% vesting after one year and the remainder vesting in 36 equal monthly installments.
