Image Scan Holdings shares rise 6% after new X-ray system orders

Shares in Image Scan Holdings PLC (AIM:IGE), a provider of X-ray screening and security inspection technology listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market, rose 6% to 2.75p on Tuesday.

The move followed an announcement that its wholly owned subsidiary, 3DX-RAY, had received two new orders for its MDXi-400 X-ray inspection systems.

The orders come from an established customer in the automotive manufacturing sector, with the systems to be installed in Korea and Brazil.

They will support quality assurance and inspection processes for catalytic converter production.

The orders will bring the number of 3DX-RAY systems supplied for this application to more than 65 worldwide.

The company said the orders reflected continuing demand for industrial X-ray inspection technology despite the broader transition towards vehicle electrification.

Vincent Deery, chief executive of Image Scan, said manufacturers continued to invest in quality assurance technologies that support consistent production standards.

He added that the company was pleased an existing customer had selected the MDXi-400 platform again.
