Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) (TSX:CM) beat analysts' profit estimates on Thursday, as strength in its capital markets and domestic retail banking businesses extended a strong quarter of results across Canada's largest lenders.
CIBC earned $2.41 billion in its third quarter, up from $2.1 billion a year earlier, helped by revenue growth across its businesses. The bank took a $232 million after-tax charge tied to the recent sale of CIBC Caribbean.
Arrow Exploration Corp (TSX-V:AXL, AIM:AXL, OTC:CSTPF) said its second quarter was its “best quarter yet”, with adjusted EBITDA rising 300% year on year to US$25.1 million as revenue more than doubled.
Revenue net of royalties increased 116% to US$34.2 million, while average production climbed 30% to 4,902 barrels of oil equivalent per day and was 4% higher than the first quarter. Nine Mile Metals Ltd. (CSE:NINE, OTCID:VMSXF, FRA:KQ9) has reported assay results from drill hole DDH WD-26-10 at the Wedge Mine in New Brunswick's Bathurst Mining Camp, with the hole intersecting a 31.95-metre massive sulphide zone grading 2.52% copper equivalent.
The hole was collared in the southwest at the edge of the company's drill pattern and was drilled to a depth of 224 metres. The mineralized interval, from 109 to 140.95 metres, averaged 0.93% copper, 0.57% lead, 2.23% zinc, 24.89 grams per tonne silver and 0.49 grams per tonne gold.
Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) forecast third-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on Wednesday, extending a run of blowout results driven by insatiable demand for its AI chips.
Nvidia posted second-quarter revenue of $96.2 billion, topping analyst estimates of $92.2 billion and marking 106% growth from a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.22, ahead of the $2.10 expected and up 120% year-over-year.
Salesforce Inc (NYSE:CRM, XETRA:FOO) posted second-quarter results that topped Wall Street estimates and raised its full-year guidance, sending shares rocketing over 20% higher on Thursday.
The company reported fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue of $11.3 billion, in line with analyst estimates of $11.32 billion and up 11% year-over-year.
Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY) raised its annual sales and profit forecast on Thursday after posting second-quarter results that topped Wall Street expectations, even as shares fell 5%.
The consumer electronics retailer reported revenue of $9.8 billion for the quarter, above analyst estimates of $9.59 billion and up 4% from a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.47, compared with estimates of $1.38 and up 15% year-over-year.
Burlington Stores Inc. (NYSE:BURL) reported second-quarter profit that beat Wall Street estimates, but the off-price retailer's shares fell after it issued a weaker-than-expected forecast for the current quarter.
The company posted adjusted earnings of $2.37 per share for the quarter, compared with analysts' average estimate of $2.18, according to the release.

Okta Inc (NASDAQ:OKTA) shares are set to open about 18% higher on Thursday after the identity management software company reported fiscal second-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations for revenue and adjusted earnings.
Okta reported total revenue of $805 million for the quarter ended July 31, up 11% from $728 million a year earlier and ahead of estimates of about $794 million. Subscription revenue increased 12% to $793 million.
