Snail Inc (NASDAQ:SNAL) opened Gamescom 2026 by unveiling "9 Yin Sutra: Wuxia," a new AAA title expanding its Age of Wushu franchise, alongside a companion title, "9 Yin Sutra: Immortal," offering a more fantastical take on the same IP.
The company also showed a new trailer for another internally developed game, "For The Stars," and offered media exclusive hands-on demos.
CEO Hai Shi introduced the game, which along with "9 Yin Sutra: Immortal" forms two distinct creative interpretations of the Age of Wushu IP. "Wuxia" draws from historical Wuxia traditions and stands as the closest sequel to Age of Wushu, while "Immortal" takes a more fantastical approach rooted in the cultivation genre.
The company said the differentiated approach is meant to broaden the IP's creative potential while giving each title its own identity, setting, tone and gameplay experience.
Snail Games also showed a new gameplay trailer for "For The Stars," another internally developed AAA title, and offered exclusive demos to media at the event. The company said its internally developed titles, including "For The Stars" and the two "9 Yin Sutra" games, are a key part of its portfolio strategy, offering opportunities to build new IP and expand existing franchises through in-house development.
On its established portfolio, PixARK is launching its premium Terracrypt DLC, adding more than 200 hours of new content to the survival sandbox game. ARK: Survival Ascended is rolling out a major ARK: Astraeos update alongside a new trailer.
"Bellwright" showed a new demo highlighting upcoming traversal features aimed at building player loyalty, while "Honeycomb: The World Beyond" got an exclusive Gamescom showcase ahead of launch, with a public demo also becoming available.
Snail Games said its first day at Gamescom reflected a broader strategy centered on extending existing IP, launching new premium content, developing titles internally and expanding access across platforms.
