D3 Energy Ltd (ASX:D3E, OTCQX:DNRGF) has initiated a high-resolution 2D seismic survey at its Nooitgedacht project in South Africa.
The program aims to refine the geological model and support future well targeting across its flagship ER315 permit.
The survey follows recent drilling at NGT245D and NGT245E and is expected to take around two weeks to complete.
ClearSeis is conducting the survey using low-impact nodal seismic acquisition and weight-drop source technology, designed to gather detailed subsurface data while minimising environmental disturbance.
Seismic to refine drilling model
The new data will be used to improve D3 Energy's structural interpretation of the Nooitgedacht area and integrate results from the company's recent drilling campaign.
The company expects the work to assist with future well targeting and resource development planning as it seeks to advance its helium and natural gas resources towards development.
Managing director and chief executive David Casey said the seismic program would build on D3 Energy's geological model and support efforts to convert its extensive resource base into reserves.
ER315 is D3 Energy's flagship South African exploration permit and has previously returned independently verified helium concentrations of up to 8%.

D3 Energy controls a 479,409-acre land position across South Africa's Free State Province, including ER315 and several additional exploration and technical cooperation permits.
A Production Right Application covering an initial portion of ER315 is currently being assessed by South Africa's Petroleum Agency SA.
The company's ER386 project is contiguous with ER315 and sits within the same Virginia Fault structural corridor that hosts certified reserves and contingent resources within ER315 and the Production Right Application area.

Next steps
D3 Energy expects the Nooitgedacht seismic campaign to be completed within approximately two weeks.
The resulting data will then be integrated with results from NGT245D and NGT245E to refine the structural model, guide future drilling locations and support resource development planning.
