Mosaic Minerals finds new gold zones at Quebec property, plans fall drilling

Canadian mining company Mosaic Minerals Corp. (CSE:MOC) has discovered new gold zones at its Île d'Or property in Abitibi, Quebec.

The company says it completed stripping, mapping, and channel sampling work at the site, collecting more than 340 samples now shipped for analysis.

Visible gold was observed repeatedly in multiple sampling channels, including newly exposed areas in the southwestern extension of the main showing that had not previously been documented.

The work confirmed a complex structural network of shear veins, tension veins and stockwork zones hosted within a mineralized granodiorite matrix spanning several tens of meters in width.

Mosaic also identified a geophysical corridor extending more than one kilometer, combining a high-amplitude magnetic anomaly with an electromagnetic conductor detected through very low frequency (VLF) surveying.

A historical drill hole located approximately 1 kilometer northwest intersected a zone grading 1.13 grams per tonne of gold over 5.60 meters, though the broader corridor remains untested.

The mineralization follows two structural orientations, northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest, fitting a metallogenic model associated with vein and shear-hosted gold deposits in granodiorite rock.

Only one historical drill hole from SOQUEM has tested the geophysical anomaly, leaving additional targets along the corridor available for future exploration.
