Tiziana Life Sciences to present Phase 2a BANYAN trial data at ALS Nexus 2026

Tiziana Life Sciences Ltd (NASDAQ:TLSA) announced that it will present a poster on its Phase 2a BANYAN clinical trial of intranasal foralumab at ALS Nexus 2026 in Orlando, Florida, on Monday.

The presentation, titled “Phase 2a Trial of Intranasal Foralumab – BANYAN, a Healey ALS MyMatch Trial,” is scheduled for 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Eastern Time during the Scientific Poster Session.

Dr. Pinar Uysal will present an overview of the trial, including preclinical data supporting foralumab in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the study design and implementation of the ALS MyMatch Common Screening Protocol.

BANYAN is a randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter Phase 2a study evaluating intranasal foralumab in people living with ALS. Participants are being randomized in a 3:1 ratio to receive foralumab or placebo.

The trial is designed to assess safety, biomarkers of immune modulation and neuroinflammation, including PET imaging of microglial activation, as well as early signals of clinical effect. It is being conducted across Network of Excellence for ALS sites and uses the Healey ALS MyMatch infrastructure.

The study is currently in its operational startup phase. Tiziana said that additional information on enrollment timing and participating sites will be provided in a forthcoming release.

“We are pleased to share the scientific rationale and operational framework of the BANYAN trial with the ALS community at ALS Nexus,” Tiziana CEO Ivor Elrifi said in a statement.

“By highlighting the role of the Treg pathway and the innovative design of this Healey ALS MyMatch study, we aim to advance collaborative understanding of how immunomodulation via the nasal route may benefit people living with ALS.”

Foralumab is a fully human anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody that Tiziana is developing as an immunomodulatory therapy. The company is investigating whether intranasal administration can affect regulatory T cells, or Tregs, and neuroinflammation associated with ALS.

The BANYAN trial is supported by a grant from the ALS Association and partially funded by the Martha Olson-Fernandez Foundation and the ALS Bridge Foundation.

ALS Nexus 2026, organized by the ALS Association, runs from August 23 to 26.

Shares of Tiziana are up around 3.5% on Monday morning in New York.
