Pilbara Gold extends Mt York mineralisation as drilling program reaches halfway mark

Pilbara Gold Ltd (ASX:PGL) has delivered further strong gold intersections from its flagship 2.1-million-ounce Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia, extending mineralisation at Main Hill and Main Hill Extension as its 2026 resource and PFS drilling campaign reaches the halfway point.

The latest results show mineralisation continuing below previous drilling and remaining open at depth, strengthening the company's case for resource growth ahead of an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) targeted for early 2027. Five rigs are operating at Mt York, with a sixth expected to arrive in September.

High-grade results extend Main Hill

At Main Hill, drilling returned several wide and higher-grade intersections, including 10 metres at 4.02 g/t gold from 262 metres, including 7 metres at 5.54 g/t, as well as 12 metres at 3.63 g/t from 295 metres, including 5 metres at 7.69 g/t.

Another hole intersected 25 metres at 1.21 g/t gold from 320 metres, including 8 metres at 3.1 g/t.

Cross-section through Main Hill with infill drillhole 26MYRC004 confirming multiple zones of higher-grade mineralisation down dip and along strike of existing drilling. Assays pending for drill hole 26MYDD033.

The results confirm and increase confidence in the mineralisation model at Main Hill while supporting further drilling below the current resource pit shell. Main Hill is characterised by a 60-100-metre-wide banded iron formation (BIF) containing multiple stacked mineralised zones.

Main Hill Extension thickens at depth

Results from Main Hill Extension have also reinforced the potential for resource growth, with drilling indicating mineralisation is not only continuing at depth but increasing in width in places.

Key intersections included 22 metres at 2.04 g/t gold from 122 metres, including 3 metres at 3.98 g/t, 5 metres at 4.06 g/t and 2 metres at 4.4 g/t. A separate hole returned 5 metres at 5.47 g/t from 81 metres, including 2 metres at 10.66 g/t.

Much of Main Hill Extension was previously drilled to only about 100 metres vertical depth, leaving considerable scope for deeper step-out drilling. The company said several of the latest intersections extend below the optimised resource pit shell.

Drilling expanded to 60,000 metres

Pilbara Gold has completed 28,635 metres of diamond and reverse circulation drilling so far in 2026, with the program targeting resource extensions along the project's continuous 4.2-kilometre BIF host as well as infill drilling to improve resource confidence.

Managing director Dr Peter Turner said the drilling program had been expanded to 60,000 metres following the results received to date and the identification of wide zones of sulphidic BIF around the "Monster Zone" beneath Main Hill and its northwestern extension.

“With 2026 drilling now 50% complete at Mt York, we are on track to deliver a new Mineral Resource Estimate in early 2027 and a PFS mid-way through 2027.

"The drilling program has been increased to 60,000m due to the tenor of results to date and wide zones of sulphidic Banded Iron Formation (BIF) we are seeing in and around the ‘Monster Zone’ beneath Main Hill and its Extension to the NW. This evidence, coupled with reports that the BIF and mineralisation are increasing in width below Main Hill Extension means that there is plenty of exciting drilling to undertake on the project in the coming months.”

The company is targeting a new MRE in early 2027 followed by completion of a pre-feasibility study around mid-2027.
