M2i Global Inc (OTC:MTWO) has highlighted recent US government actions aimed at strengthening domestic mining and critical minerals supply chains, including more than $2 billion in mining and mining-related projects and over $180 million in mining school and workforce investments announced following an August 7 industry roundtable.
The company also pointed to a July 30 Presidential Determination under the Defense Production Act authorizing the Commerce Department to restrict exports of recoverable critical minerals and materials.
The Bureau of Industry and Security subsequently issued a temporary final rule requiring U.S. persons, starting August 27, to allocate 100% of monthly sales of black mass and tungsten waste and scrap to US persons, subject to case-by-case exceptions. The rule runs through August 27, 2027, with public comments open until November 4, 2026.
M2i also cited Executive Order 14415, signed July 20, which limits certain waivers for critical materials sourced from covered nations and directs the Department of War to strengthen supply-chain mapping and encourage defense contractors to qualify additional domestic and partner-country sources.
M2i believes that the measures could incentivize development of a more resilient domestic minerals supply chain.
The company also clarified that it was not a recipient of an award announced August 7 and that the actions do not represent a federal award, contract or commitment to M2i.
