Digital 9 Infrastructure (Digital 9 Infrastructure PLC (LSE:DGI9), the London-listed investment trust undergoing a managed wind-down, returned £30 million to shareholders after recovering £10 million from a Verne Global earn-out previously valued at nil.
The negotiated settlement provided an unexpected cash recovery after Digital 9 had judged the earn-out highly unlikely to pay out because of reduced capacity at Verne Global’s Keflavík site.
The recovery helped fund the company’s first compulsory redemption since its wind-down began, returning about 3.5p for each existing ordinary share at a redemption price of 9.2753p.
Digital 9’s net asset value per share fell to 8.6p at 30 June from 9.3p at the end of December, reflecting the capital returned to shareholders and other movements during the period.
The redemption covered 37.38% of existing ordinary shares and was also funded by disposals completed during the financial year ended 31 December 2025 and repayment of the company’s revolving credit facility.
The portfolio now comprises two remaining assets, Arqiva and Elio Networks, as the company continues its managed wind-down and seeks to realise their value.
