Askari Metals Ltd (ASX:AS2, FRA:7ZG) has appointed experienced finance and governance executive Tim Slate as company secretary and chief financial officer, effective 6 August 2026.
Slate replaces Stuart Usher, who stepped down from both roles on 5 August 2026.
Leadership transition
Slate has more than 15 years of experience across accounting and company secretarial roles, working with ASX- and London Stock Exchange-listed companies, multinational corporations, private businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He is a chartered accountant, an associate member of the Governance Institute of Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Slate will also take responsibility for Askari Metals’ communications with the ASX on listing rule matters.
The company’s board thanked Usher for his contribution and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Project portfolio
Askari Metals is focused on gold and critical minerals exploration in Ethiopia and Namibia.
Its flagship Nejo Project in Ethiopia covers around 1,200 square kilometres in the Arabian-Nubian Shield and is positioned around the 1.7-million-ounce Tulu Kapi Gold Mine. The project also lies along strike from the 3.4-million-ounce Kurmuk Mine.
In Namibia, the company owns the Uis Project, a polymetallic critical minerals asset in the Cape Cross–Uis Pegmatite Belt. The project is close to Andrada Mining’s operating Uis tin mine and has access to infrastructure including Walvis Bay Deepwater Port.
Askari Metals is progressing exploration across both assets through drilling, target generation and resource growth activities.
