The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index climbed strongly on Tuesday, gaining 60.60 points, or 1.81%, to close at 3,401.80.
The index has now advanced 52 points, or 1.55%, over the past five trading days, reflecting renewed momentum across the small-cap end of the Australian market.
It's the last day at the Diggers and Dealers conference and news flow is lean; however, several ASX-listed companies have delivered notable updates spanning mining services, digital healthcare, critical minerals and international exploration.
Mastermyne secures A$255 million Dendrobium opportunity
Mastermyne Group Ltd (ASX:MYE) has secured a new mining services contract at the Dendrobium underground metallurgical coal mine in New South Wales, with the agreement potentially generating about A$255 million in gross revenue over six years.
The contract with GM3 carries an initial two-year term expected to contribute around A$85 million in revenue, together with two optional two-year extensions.
Work is scheduled to begin in September 2026 and will create more than 140 new roles, substantially expanding Mastermyne’s existing operations at Dendrobium.
The award provides the mining services group with additional long-term revenue visibility while strengthening its position at one of New South Wales’ key underground coal operations.
BlinkLab reports encouraging ADHD study results
BlinkLab Ltd (ASX:BB1) has reported positive results from a European ADHD study, marking an important step in the expansion of its smartphone-based diagnostic platform beyond autism.
The study achieved sensitivity of 82% and specificity of 83% in children aged six to 17, supporting further development of BlinkLab Dx2.
The artificial intelligence-powered model is designed to identify digital neurobehavioural markers associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
BlinkLab will now begin preparations for a US regulatory study program, following a similar development pathway to that established for its autism-focused BlinkLab Dx1 product.
The results broaden the potential application of BlinkLab’s technology and support its strategy of developing accessible, objective diagnostic tools for neurodevelopmental conditions.
Right Resources produces high-grade tungsten product
Right Resources Ltd (ASX:RRE) has produced a high-grade tungsten sink product from preliminary metallurgical testwork at the Blue prospect near Tumbarumba in New South Wales.
Heavy Liquid Separation testing on a 32-kilogram composite sample returned a product grading 66.5% tungsten trioxide at a crush size below 1 millimetre, with an indicative tungsten recovery of 81.6%.
The results support further evaluation of a gravity-led processing route and suggest a substantial proportion of the tungsten may be recoverable at relatively coarse crush sizes.
This could reduce the need for fine grinding, potentially simplifying the processing flowsheet and lowering energy requirements.
Right Resources is expected to use the findings to guide further metallurgical work and assess the broader development potential of the Blue prospect.
Barys launches Kazakhstan exploration program
Barys Resources Ltd (ASX:BRY) has commenced a detailed exploration program across its newly acquired, 100%-owned tenements in Kazakhstan, targeting gold and potential copper mineralisation ahead of an initial drilling campaign.
The five-week program will investigate seven priority alteration zones across the company’s 335-square-kilometre licence package in the North Balkhash region.
Field activities will include geological mapping, surface sampling, ground magnetic surveys, detailed soil geochemistry and gravity surveying over the most prospective areas.
Results will be used to identify geochemical and geophysical anomalies and establish targets for follow-up drilling.
The campaign represents Barys’ first major field program since acquiring the tenements and is intended to rapidly advance the project from regional targeting toward drill-ready prospects.
