Graham Wheeler has resigned from the board of S&U PLC (LSE:SUS) with immediate effect, citing a potential conflict of interest.
Wheeler is a director of Hodge Bank, which has acquired Blue Motor Finance, a rival to S&U's Advantage Finance subsidiary.
He spent six years with the group, first as chief executive of Advantage and later as a non-executive director.
Chairman Anthony Coombs praised the decision and thanked Wheeler for what he called invaluable counsel and experience.
