Medicus Pharma CMO to lead Antev's Teverelix clinical programme

Medicus Pharma (NASDAQ:MDCX) announced it has put its chief medical officer in charge of UK subsidiary Antev Limited, consolidating leadership of the Teverelix clinical programme ahead of regulatory, late-stage development and partnering work.

Dr Faisal Mehmud will become Antev’s chief executive on August 30, while retaining his positions as Medicus chief medical officer and co-chairman of the subsidiary. He succeeds Amit Kohli, who has served as interim chief executive since Medicus completed its acquisition of Antev on August 29, 2025. Kohli remained for a planned one-year period to oversee the transition of the business, development programmes and stakeholder relationships.

Mehmud has more than 20 years’ biopharmaceutical experience and previously held senior positions at Pfizer, GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, Novartis and Sanofi. Teverelix, a next-generation GnRH antagonist, is being developed for advanced prostate cancer, acute urinary retention associated with enlarged prostate and women’s health indications including endometriosis.
