Amigo Resources PLC (LSE:AMGO, FRA:0VG) shares started the week positively, rising 11% in early deals, after it told investors that its Tanzanian operations have produced their first 5 kilograms of gold, marking the group’s transition from plant commissioning into active production.
The gold was recovered from the Mojimoto and Kabete operations between the start of commissioning, announced on 24 July, and 31 July. Both processing plants are now operating as the company progressively increases processing rates.
Executive chair Craig Ransley described the achievement as Amigo’s “first meaningful commercial recovery” and a proof of concept for its vertically integrated mining and processing model.
Amigo is now working to improve throughput and recovery rates across both plants, with production expected to rise over the coming weeks.
The update also begins a standardised monthly reporting cycle, though the company cautioned that operations remain at an early stage and initial production rates are not indicative of future performance.
