DiscoverIE climbs as order book boosts expectations

DiscoverIE Group PLC (LSE:DSCV) shares jumped 12.5% to 782p after the company said full-year earnings were tracking ahead of expectations following strong growth in orders.

The FTSE 250-listed customised electronics designer and manufacturer reported a 31% organic increase in orders during the first three months of its financial year.

Organic sales rose 6%, while the book-to-bill ratio reached 1.15, meaning it received £1.15 of new orders for every £1 of sales completed during the period.

The Guildford, Surrey-based group said momentum from the final quarter of last year had continued into the new financial year, strengthening confidence in its outlook.

DiscoverIE said adjusted earnings for the full year were now "tracking ahead of the board's expectations".

Sales increased 10% at constant exchange rates when including recent acquisitions Trival and Storm, both of which were said to be performing well. The regulatory approval process for discoverIE's proposed acquisition of 3Gmetalworx was also said to be progressing.
