MONEYME tops $2 billion loan book as originations surge and profitability returns

MoneyMe Ltd (ASX:MME) has surpassed a $2 billion loan book and returned to normalised profitability in the second half of FY26, supported by record originations, improving credit performance and lower funding costs.

The AI-powered digital lender ended June with a gross loan book of $2.08 billion, up 34% year on year, after FY26 originations increased 34% to a record $1.23 billion.

Fourth-quarter originations reached $368 million, representing a 57% increase on the previous corresponding period and a 13% rise from the March quarter.

Gross revenue increased 20% to $249 million for the financial year, including $70 million in the fourth quarter, up 27% year on year.

Credit quality supports earnings improvement

MONEYME delivered normalised net profit after tax of $500,000 in the second half, narrowing the full-year normalised loss to $4.1 million from $15.5 million in FY25.

Credit performance continued to strengthen, with fourth-quarter net credit losses falling for a fifth consecutive quarter to 2.4%, compared with 3.4% a year earlier.

Loans more than 90 days in arrears declined to 81 basis points from 109 basis points, while the average borrower credit score remained within Equifax’s “Very Good” range.

Risk-adjusted net interest margin, including corporate interest, improved to 2.4% from 1.5% in the previous corresponding quarter. Excluding a one-off warehouse restructuring cost, the measure was 2.5%.

Growth was led by MONEYME’s Autopay secured vehicle finance product, which expanded around 30% to a $1.12 billion book, while personal loans grew more than 50% to $780 million.

Funding platform strengthened

The company completed a $365.4 million personal loan securitisation in May, its largest transaction of this type to date.

This took total asset-backed securities issuance for FY26 to $1.023 billion across three public capital markets transactions, increasing available growth capital and reducing funding costs.

MONEYME also received Fitch Ratings upgrades for two note tranches within its MME PL 2025-1 transaction, reflecting the performance of the underlying personal loan assets.

AI and new products drive operating leverage

The lender continued deploying artificial intelligence across credit decision-making, operations, customer service, finance and marketing.

Its operating cost-to-income ratio fell to 24.7% in the fourth quarter from 26.9% in the preceding period, despite originations growing 13%.

MONEYME also launched its Cashback Rewards Credit Card and Energy Upgrade Personal Loan during the quarter, while preparing to introduce a co-branded credit card with Luxury Escapes.

Managing director and CEO Clayton Howes said FY26 marked an important inflection point, with investments in technology, funding and credit capabilities translating into sustainable operating leverage.
