Pilbara Gold Ltd (ASX:PGL) has intersected broad gold mineralisation below the current pit shell at its 2.1-million-ounce Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia, strengthening the potential for further resource growth and a deeper open-pit development.
The first results from the company’s 2026 drilling campaign extended mineralisation at both Main Hill and Gossan Hill, where the gold system remains open at depth.
At Main Hill, hole 26MYDD022 returned 94 metres at 0.88 g/t gold from 275 metres, representing an estimated true width of 80 metres. This included 57 metres at 1.00 g/t gold, 9 metres at 2.45 g/t and 8 metres at 1.62 g/t.
The same hole also intersected 6 metres at 3.19 g/t gold from 225 metres, including 3 metres at 5.56 g/t.
Main Hill drilling supports resource growth
Hole 26MYDD022 was designed to test mineralisation around 100 metres below the previously deepest confirmed section of the Main Hill orebody.
Pilbara Gold said the result demonstrated that mineralisation continued well below existing drilling and was wider than modelled, with much of the intercept sitting outside the current resource envelope.
A second Main Hill hole, 26MYDD025, returned 13 metres at 0.97 g/t gold from 331 metres, including 4 metres at 1.54 g/t. The hole was primarily drilled to support the conversion of inferred resources to the indicated category ahead of the project’s pre-feasibility study.
Managing director Dr Peter Turner described the 94-metre intercept as a “bumper drill hit” and said the initial results supported the company’s expectation that the Mt York resource would continue to expand.

Gossan Hill remains open at depth
Drilling at Gossan Hill also extended the known mineralised system.
Hole 26MYDD008 returned 21 metres at 1.42 g/t gold from 228 metres, including 7 metres at 3.54 g/t, within a broader halo of 45 metres at 0.75 g/t.
The result extended mineralisation below previous drilling and confirmed the deposit remained open at depth, although several other holes at Gossan Hill did not materially extend mineralisation beneath the current pit shell.
Four of five reported holes at Main Hill Extension also encountered gold mineralisation, with further assays pending.

Next steps
Pilbara Gold has completed 12,139 metres of its planned program of more than 50,000 metres at Mt York.
Five rigs are operating at the project, with a sixth expected by the end of July. Drilling is currently concentrated on Main Hill and Main Hill Extension, targeting extensions that could support a deeper optimal pit shell.
The company will continue reporting assays as they are received, advance the Mt York pre-feasibility study and award an airborne electromagnetic survey covering the broader project area.
An updated mineral resource estimate is expected in late 2026.
About Pilbara Gold
Pilbara Gold owns 100% of the Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
Mt York contains a mineral resource of 61.7 million tonnes at 1.05 g/t gold for 2.08 million ounces, hosted within a continuous 4.2-kilometre-long banded iron formation.
A 2024 scoping study outlined the potential for a conventional open-cut mining operation using carbon-in-leach processing. The current drilling campaign is intended to expand and improve confidence in the resource ahead of the pre-feasibility study and maiden reserve estimate.
