Bridgepoint Group PLC (LSE:BPT) shares moved on the front foot on Friday, after the company said underlying EBITDA jumped 78% to £227.3 million in the first half as fundraising reached €26 billion, leaving the private-markets manager close to its upgraded €28 billion year-end target.
Fee-paying assets under management increased 33% to $58.4 billion, while underlying management and other income rose 23% to £254.4 million. Performance-related earnings more than doubled to £120.7 million, helped by fund realisations and the performance of infrastructure fund ECP V.
Bridgepoint returned a record €16.6 billion to investors during the period, including €11 billion from the sale of Calpine, against €3.6 billion deployed. Underlying pre-tax profit rose 91% to £197.5 million.
Reported pre-tax profit fell 29% to £42.9 million, reflecting exceptional acquisition costs linked to Kayne Anderson Real Estate and ECP, alongside amortisation and financing expenses. Bridgepoint declared a 4.8p interim dividend, with the Kayne Anderson transaction expected to complete toward the end of 2026.
In London, Bridgepoint shares climbed 3.95%, changing hands at 326.4p.
