Cyclopharm secures immediate 11-site Technegas rollout with major US hospital network

Cyclopharm Ltd (ASX:CYC) has secured a landmark agreement to install its Technegas® lung imaging technology across 11 University Hospitals locations in Cleveland, strengthening the company’s commercial footprint in the United States.

Unlike a conventional staged rollout, all 11 systems are scheduled to be installed over the coming weeks, with University Hospitals completing the necessary site preparation before the agreement was signed.

The agreement will establish Technegas across the University Hospitals network in northern Ohio and represents an important validation of Cyclopharm’s enterprise-wide adoption strategy.

Each installed system is expected to generate recurring revenue through patient procedures, consumables and servicing, with income increasing as clinical use grows across the hospital network.

Cyclopharm managing director and chief executive officer James McBrayer said the decision to deploy Technegas simultaneously across 11 locations reflected the hospital system’s confidence in the technology.

“This is a landmark agreement for our US rollout. One of America’s great academic health systems, University Hospitals has a 160-year legacy of clinical excellence, research and teaching. To have a system of this calibre commit to Technegas® across 11 locations simultaneously speaks directly to the recognised clinical value that Technegas® delivers for patients and clinicians.”

Major US reference site

University Hospitals serves more than one million patients annually and employs more than 32,000 caregivers across northern Ohio.

The network is anchored by the 1,000-plus-bed University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, the primary teaching hospital of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Cyclopharm expects University Hospitals to become an important national reference site for Technegas, demonstrating how the technology can be deployed across a large integrated healthcare network.

The agreement also expands Cyclopharm’s presence in the US Midwest and adds another major academic health system to its growing portfolio of American customers.

Broader clinical potential

Technegas is approved in the US for visualising pulmonary ventilation and evaluating pulmonary embolism when used alongside perfusion imaging in adults and children aged six years and older.

The technology is also being investigated for potential use in respiratory conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and pulmonary hypertension, as well as interventional lung procedures.

McBrayer said University Hospitals’ research capabilities could support the continued development of Technegas as a platform for quantitative and artificial intelligence-driven lung imaging.

About Cyclopharm

Its core product, Technegas, is an ultra-fine radiolabelled carbon dispersion inhaled by patients to enable functional lung ventilation imaging using gamma cameras or single photon emission computed tomography systems.

The company is expanding the commercial use of Technegas globally, with the US market representing a key pillar of its long-term growth strategy.
