Itaconix PLC (AIM:ITX, OTCQB:ITXXF, FRA:18G0) has secured the first customer supply agreement for its compact plastic-free dish detergent tablet, marking the product’s move towards commercial sales in North America.
The AIM-listed speciality polymers group will supply the 8-gram tablets to an unnamed purpose-driven North American brand through its SPARX Formulated Solutions business. Initial production will use pilot-scale tabletting capacity at Itaconix’s North American Innovation Center.
The tablets combine the company’s Itaconix TSI plant-based polymers with technology from tabletting equipment provider Bonals. They were unveiled at the American Cleaning Institute’s Innovation Showcase in February and are expected to reach retail shelves by the end of 2026.
Chief executive John R. Shaw said the agreement would support further product development and the company’s work with contract manufacturers to produce the tablets on high-speed presses. Financial terms and anticipated volumes were not disclosed.
In London, Itaconix shares moved positively, up 3%, changing hands at 111.9p.
