Trust Stamp Inc (NASDAQ:IDAI, ISE:AIID) said its Maltese subsidiary will participate directly in the EU’s Important Project of Common European Interest on Advanced Semiconductor Technologies (IPCEI AST).
Trust Stamp Malta Limited joins the coordinated European initiative aimed at strengthening the continent's sovereignty, security and resilience across the advanced semiconductor value chain.
The program brings together industry and research participants from across the EU to accelerate development and first industrial deployment of next-generation chip technologies.
The initiative is also supported by Malta Enterprise.
Trust Stamp's selection positions its privacy-first identity technology within the effort by binding the identity of a device to a verified human identity, so critical hardware can be trusted to operate only in authorized hands.
The company's participation is anchored by two cooperation agreements planned to run from 2027 to 2032, subject to formal approval. The first is a secure semiconductor identity platform, linking device identity to verified human identity through hardware-rooted security, including memristor-based physically unclonable functions, combined with Trust Stamp's biometric tokenization. The second explores AI-assisted processing of neural-signal data from an emerging biosignal-chip platform, paired with secure device authentication to protect sensitive data at the hardware level.
Berta Pappenheim, Trust Stamp Executive Director and project lead, said the selection lets the company bring its privacy-first identity technology to one of the EU's most strategic industrial programs. "Being selected as a direct participant in the program is an important milestone for Trust Stamp,” Pappenheim said in a statement. “We are grateful to Malta Enterprise for the support that makes Malta's contribution possible, and we look forward to helping grow the local ecosystem around this work."
The funding envelope for the Advanced Semiconductor Technologies wave is still being finalized.
