Midnight Sun Mining Corp (TSX-V:MMA, OTCQB:MDNGF) has reported additional drilling results from its wholly owned Dumbwa copper deposit in Zambia, saying the program has now confirmed continuous near-surface sulphide copper mineralization over 6.7 kilometres of strike.
The company released assay results from 77 drill holes, bringing the total completed to more than 260 holes and 56,855 metres of drilling.
Five drill rigs remain active as the company continues to expand the deposit northward and test extensions to the east and west.
Among the latest drill intercepts, hole DBW-26-200 returned 21.64 metres grading 0.42% copper from near surface, hole DBW-26-165 intersected 13.67 metres grading 0.51% copper, and hole DBW-26-150 returned 25 metres grading 0.38% copper. Additional notable results included multiple mineralized intervals from holes DBW-26-176 and DBW-26-150.
Midnight Sun CEO Al Fabbro said the drilling has demonstrated a copper system measuring at least 6.7 kilometres in length and between 600 metres and 1 kilometre in width.
“As our drilling has progressed north of the disruption zone we just passed through, we are again seeing good development of visually strong copper mineralization and the northernmost holes we have reported today demonstrate the return of thick, higher-grade mineralization within the central corridor of the deposit,” Fabbro said in a statement.
The company said recent drilling has extended the deposit by an additional 1.4 kilometres to the north while refining the lateral boundaries of mineralization. According to Midnight Sun, the higher-grade core of the Dumbwa shear zone has re-emerged beyond an area where weaker geological development had previously resulted in lower grades.
Midnight Sun said mineralization remains open along the full extent of the copper-in-soil anomaly, as well as in selected areas laterally and at depth.
The current Phase One exploration program is designed to test an initial 11.5-kilometre strike extent using widely spaced drill fences intended to define both the higher-grade core and the broader mineralized system.
The company said approximately 12,500 metres of drilling remain, with Phase One expected to conclude during the third quarter of 2026.
Assays were conducted using four-acid digest with ICP-OES finish, and the reported intervals represent drilled widths rather than true widths.
The company noted that assay results have been received for approximately the first 5.2 kilometres of the drilled trend.
