Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF, FRA:FLM1) has released additional assay results from its Phase 3 diamond drill program at the Berenguela silver-copper-manganese deposit in southern Peru.
The results cover the final 15 holes of a 90-hole program, with infill drilling along a 100-metre strike length within the existing resource boundary. The work is aimed at delineating high-grade mineralization suitable for a starter pit and defining mineral occurrences for planning purposes.
Highlights include hole AFD184, which returned 62.3 metres at 81 g/t silver, 2% copper and 19.2% manganese from 5.6 metres downhole, including 30 metres at 77 g/t silver, 2.9% copper and 21% manganese from 26.2 metres.
Hole AFD190 intersected 24.5 metres at 293 g/t silver, 0.81% copper and 14.3% manganese from 26.3 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 5 metres at 882 g/t silver from 50.3 metres. Hole AFD187 returned 42.2 metres at 99 g/t silver, 1.6% copper and 18.1% manganese from 2.4 metres downhole.
The results will inform metallurgical testwork and mine scheduling as the company advances its pre-feasibility study, CEO Ralph Rushton said in a statement.
"Drilling in the area known as Domain 2, around the small historic open pit, has delivered excellent copper results with associated high manganese once again confirming the multiple potential value generators from Berenguela," Rushton said.
A second drill rig is being mobilized to follow up on high-grade copper mineralization at the eastern end of Berenguela, where hole AFD100 previously intersected 156 metres of 290 g/t silver, 1.1% copper and 7.3% manganese.
Aftermath has completed a total of 15,540 metres of core drilling across three phases of diamond drilling at Berenguela. The large-diameter PQ drilling program is designed to convert indicated resources to measured in areas where mining is expected to begin and to obtain metallurgical samples for optimizing recovery processes.
