Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) has reached a production milestone at its Al Wash-hi Majaza copper-gold mine in Oman, dispatching its 50th shipment of copper concentrate from Sohar Port.
The latest parcel, which departed on June 21, 2026, comprised 456 wet metric tonnes (WMT) of copper-gold concentrate containing around 83 metric tonnes (MT) of copper and 64 ounces of gold.
The shipment takes total concentrate dispatched from the operation across 50 parcels to 62,684 WMT, containing 10,988 MT of copper metal.
Shipment milestone
Al Wash-hi Majaza is operated by Al Hadeetha Resources LLC (AHRL), Alara’s joint venture company in which the Australian-based producer and explorer holds a 51% interest.
The 50th parcel included concentrate that had been held back from an earlier cycle due to port clearance requirements, with its dispatch highlighting the operational continuity of the mine and processing facility.
Alara managing director Atmavireshwar Sthapak said the milestone reflected the work of the company’s Oman-based team and joint venture partners.
“With nearly 11,000 tonnes of copper metal shipped to date, we are demonstrating the real and growing value of this asset,” Sthapak said.
Al Wash-hi Majaza production
Recent shipments from the mine included Parcel 48 on June 10, 2026, comprising 1,069 WMT of copper concentrate with 208 MT copper and 135 ounces of gold, and Parcel 49 on June 15, 2026, comprising 1,001 WMT with 195 MT copper and 126 ounces of gold.
Alara said the mine had recovered strongly after unprecedented rainfall in March affected production, with output improving in April and continuing strongly through May and June to date.
The concentrator has also delivered above nameplate production, apart from April when a planned shutdown was completed for a SAG mill reline.
Following restart, Alara said consistent May and June run rates above nameplate had positioned Al Wash-hi Majaza to deliver its best financial year performance since inception.
